Outbreak: Epidemics of the 19th Century

Explore the compelling world of health and medicine in 19th Century Ohio. Sicknesses that we barely blink at today killed men, women, and children. In our exhibit, we will be focusing on the epidemics such as cholera and tuberculosis that plagued Ohio in the 19th century, what the average person did to prevent and treat the illnesses, and early medicine.

Spring Hill is now a Blue Star Museum!

Spring Hill has also announced joining the Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The program provides families an opportunity to enjoy the nation’s cultural heritage and learn more about their community, especially after a military move. A list of participating museums and more information is available at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums
